EAA Chapter 1314 Meeting Minutes
|
Minutes for 12/17/05 Dick and myself met at 99 Restaurant, we had chicken soup and sandwich. It has been a tough year for the chapter with the death of the former president and treasurer. Also we had two fly-ins were we had one plane each. We did not do well financially. The bus for the Pumpkin Festival cost $210 and the EAA Chapter fee was $194. Chapter 1314 closed out the year with $143 in the bank. So we are prepared to go one for one more year, hopefully it will be better. Minutes for 11/19/05 Tim, Dick, Glenn, Rob and myself meet at Hawthorne –Feather airport to see Tim’s Rans S6-ES. Tims project is progressing nicely and he should be ready to fly next year. Rob is thinking of building a LSA and was quite impressed. As it is the month for EAA chapter voting we did a quick vote. Warren(myself) a RV-9A builder as president. Glenn a Sonnex builder as vice president. Tim, a Rans S6-ES builder, for secretary. For treasurer we voted my wife Sindie, she made some harvest baskets for the fly-in and raised some money for us. It has been a couple of years since we visited my project so Glenn, Rob and myself went to visit my RV-9A project. Minutes for 10/22/05 Because of weather (the great rain and massive flooding) we held our meeting during the fly-in. Dick, Ken, Tim, Glenn, Ozzie and myself were in attendance. Despite the weather Glenn & Mike showed up the previous week. The weather was not much better and we had one plane show up for the fly-in. So were out the $210 for the bus. However we had made $58 selling burgers on the B-17 tour. Also we made $75 for the Harvest basket raffle that my wife had organized. We will have enough money for the insurance next year. I guess that would be the treasurers report? Ozzie talked about his plans built JN-1 cub replica. He is doing a welded fuselage and should be very well built. We were all quite interested in his project. Dick went down to Texas for a L-19 Birddog fly-in. He had a blast. Also he has received his medical and has his High-Max running. It was a very good month for our flight & technical adviser. At the end of the fly-in Ken drew the names for the winners of the harvest baskets. Minutes for 09/17/05 Tim, Glenn, Mike, Rob & myself were in attendance. We talked about the future of EAA Chapter 1314 & fly-ins. We are a small chapter and have just a few builders. The wisdom of having fly-ins was questioned. Because of a lack of funds, we thought we might have trick or treat bags at the fly-in. A few of us decided to slog it through another year. Minutes for 08/20/05 Ken, Dave, Tim, Glen & myself were in attendance, Glen talked about his Oshkosh experience. He reported that there was not enough time to see as much as there is to be seen. However he did buy an Icom 200 radio for $550. The event is much larger than Sun & Fun. Ken reported that the B-17 tour was coming to Keene and would we want to sell some burgers. Glenn and I volunteered. Dick reported that Dave feather has his Vagabond out and flying. For his own project, he is working on an a new starter for his High Max. Tim is wiring up his Ran’s and we had a discussion on the merits of 14 gauge vs. 18 gauge wiring. Glenn is also beginning to think about wiring his panel. I have a long way to go before I get to that decision. We are going to go with the bus for the Pumpkin Festival and will get an inflatable pumpkin for the airport. Glenn has polished his wings and has begun making fuselage parts. Minutes for 07/16/05 Our lowest turnout yet, with Tim, Glenn and myself. Glenn is headed to Oshkosh, he has extra rooms available. We checked the Atlantic Flyer and they have not updated the meeting times. Also we talked about the Pumpkin Fly-In, I have not heard from the bus company for transportation into town. We hope do the same thing as last year and have transportation to the festival. AANH has contacted us and is willing to be a cosponsor. Minutes for 06/18/05 Dave, Mike, Glenn, Dick and myself were in attendance. Dick had a $20 EAA E-LSA conversion kit. It can be used to convert a “Heavy” ultralight to a legal Light Sport Aircraft. Mike talked about the Aviation Association of NH. Also it was mentioned that J3 cub training at Hampton Airport goes for $106 an hour. That is the only LSA training that we know about. From there we transitioned into discussion of slipping verses skidding and rudder sizes. Our new treasurer reported that the books are almost in order and we are doing well. Minutes for 05/21/05 Tim, Mike, Dave, and myself were in attendance. We talked about airplanes and watched a few planes take off and land at the airport. Beautiful airport terribly underutilized. Minutes for 04/16/09 We met a Hawthorne Feather Airpark for a project visit, Tim, Dick, James, Mitch, Mike and myself were in attendance. Tim showed us his Rans S6 and described its many features. Also there was discussion and reminiscing about the airpark. Minutes for 03/19/05 Seemed like a low turnout for our first Saturday meeting, this may have been because the first order of business was to fill the vacancies of the treasurer and Secretary. Mike agreed to be treasurer and I will act as Secretary for the time being. Dick brought the topic of discussion back to homebuilding after we talked a bit too much about parliamentary procedure. For our next meeting we will meet at Hawthorn-Feather Airpark to view Tim’s Rans Coyote. Minutes for 02/17/05 We had some unfortunate news, our Secretary and Treasurer passed away the day before. Out of respect, we had a moment of silence. We talked some more about our dream of having our own hanger. I had asked Panel-pros for a quote. http://www.panelpros.com/ for an insulated solar hanger. The land for the Hanger can be leased from the airport for 20 cents a square foot. There is quite a bit of interest in a hanger. I also started a Hanger web page with more information. In new news I registered EAAEEN.ORG as a URL for our web site. At my request we voted to move our meetings to Saturday mornings at 10:00 am. Minutes for 01/22/05 We had our meeting at Glenn’s house. About 5 of us were there. Glenn, Dick, Tim, Dave, Warren and Ian. Glenn showed us his Sonex project, He is currently working on the wings. Ian Clark who has built and flown a Sonex was there and gave helpful advice. He also related his first flight experiences. Also because of the very cold weather we discussed the thermal expansion of aluminum. |
